A travel diary by Lauren Rucha and Michael Hemy

“When we arrived at our apartment, our host gave us wine, limoncello, and a pastiera, or Easter cake, wrapped in the prettiest paper. The people were so warm, treating us like family everywhere we went, and the colors of the city unlike any other—yellows, greens, and oranges, all gloriously sun faded. We took a day trip to Procida, a tiny island and fishing village, where we ate seafood pasta and soft, sweet lemon wedges tossed in chili, olive oil, and mint.”
